The Heatrae Sadia 95606920 Megaflo Immersion Heater is a genuine 3kW replacement element for compatible earlier-generation Megaflo unvented hot water cylinders.

It is commonly identified by its white terminal cap and is associated with older Megaflo cylinders manufactured with either an internal air volume or an external expansion arrangement. On compatible models, the same part number may be used in both the upper and lower immersion heater positions.

Older White-Cap Megaflo Immersion Heater

Part 95606920 is intended for selected older Megaflo and Megaflo SE cylinder generations. It is often described as the white-cap, MK1 or earlier-style Megaflo immersion heater.

On compatible older Megaflo cylinders, part 95606920 may be used as either the upper or lower immersion heater. This differs from many later grey-cap Megaflo HE cylinders, which generally use different part numbers for the upper and lower positions.

Later models may instead require parts such as:

• 95606963 – lower immersion heater for selected Megaflo HE cylinders
• 95606964 – upper immersion heater for selected Megaflo HE cylinders

These later elements should not be treated as automatic replacements for 95606920 without checking the cylinder’s exact specification.

Thermostat and Seal Information

This 95606920 assembly is supplied with its matching thermostat and over-temperature protection. If the thermostat is being purchased or replaced separately, the currently specified combined thermostat and thermal cut-out for many compatible Megaflo SE applications is part number 95612026.

The sealing O-ring or gasket should always be inspected when the immersion heater is removed. Do not reuse a damaged, compressed or deteriorated seal. Unless specifically shown or stated as included with the supplied product, order the correct replacement seal separately.

Installation Information

This immersion heater is an electrical component fitted to an unvented hot water cylinder. The electrical supply must be safely isolated and the cylinder must be depressurised and drained to below the immersion heater opening before removal.

Replacement, electrical testing and recommissioning should be completed by a suitably qualified engineer. The element must not be energised unless it is completely submerged in water. After installation, check the seal and immersion boss carefully for leaks before restoring the electrical supply.
